For years, La Grange officials have let delinquent property taxes slide — but not any longer.
City attorney Steve Emery said the city has filed a lawsuit to collect back taxes from 2002 through 2005.
There are 34 properties with delinquent tax bills according to Emery.
The city has already pursued litigation against seven property owners who owe about $2,000 in back taxes.
The city is now moving forward to collect taxes on 27 additional properties totaling $2,539 in back taxes.
