City sues ex-mayor for conference table, records

The City of La Grange filed two lawsuits Feb. 15 alleging the former mayor removed official records and property from city hall and improperly sold city property during her final days in office.
Carter, a two-term mayor of La Grange and former city council member, sold a house in the 400 block of First Avenue Dec. 14 to a city employee, according to a deed filed in the county clerk’s office.
The buyer paid less than 20 percent of the home’s $85,000 value.
