The Ohio River has played an important role in not only the development of Oldham County, but American history as well. Serving as a primary transportation route during the era of westward expansion, it brought many settlers to Oldham County shores and many stories Nancy Stearns Theiss is familiar with.
“As one of the largest and most beautiful rivers in the northern hemisphere, the Ohio River has influenced almost every single aspect in our nation’s history,” Theiss said.
