Bee Hive Homes of Goshen has officially opened.
Owners Eric and Catherine Sherrard held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week for the new assisted living facility located at 12336 U.S. Hwy. 42.
The 9,750 square-foot facility, located next door to the Goshen post office, was built on the “Bee Hive Homes” model to offer assisted living with a family-like atmosphere.
Only 16 units, designed for one or two residents, were included in the Goshen facility.
The homes have a lower resident-to-staff ratio than traditional facilities, Sherrard said a caregiver will remain on site and be available 24-hours a day.
In addition, residents will be offered home cooked meals; assistance with activities of daily living; individual and group activities; free housekeeping and laundry services; a large, wrap-around porch under shade trees in warmer months; and, a bright sunroom, with views overlooking horse pastures behind the facility.
