The 2013-14 North Oldham boys basketball season got off to a disappointing start for the Mustangs.

Bullitt East beat North 66-53 Monday night in Mt. Washington in a season opener that wasn’t as close as the score would indicate, Mustangs coach Chris Stobaugh said.

“They dominated the game from start to finish,” Stobaugh said of the Chargers. “We were down 10 in the blink of an eye and it was pretty much a pounding from there.
“They had at least 20 offensive rebounds and that’s not an exaggeration. They just took us to the woodshed and they pretty much shot ‘til they scored.”

North didn’t have any official stats from the game, Stobaugh said. The Courier-Journal reported senior forward Adam Klingeman scored 20 points for North in the loss.

“They just played at a different level of physicality than we were prepared for and it showed on the scoreboard,” Stobaugh said.

The Mustangs will host Fern Creek at 7:30 Friday night in their home opener.

A game against Collins that was scheduled for Saturday has been rescheduled for Jan. 7 becuase of Collins’ participation in the state football championship Saturday afternoon in Bowling Green, North athletics director Alan Yanke said.
