By law, Kentucky requires local school board members to take annual professional development classes. But two members of the Oldham County Board of Education have gone beyond the minimum mandates in state law, earning advanced certification in support of their work for this community’s children and schools.
Walt Schumm, board member since 2003, has achieved Level Four Certification in the Kentucky School Boards Association Academy of Studies. Larry Dodson, board member since 2006, has achieved Level One Certification in the Academy of Studies.
