Age: 13.
Position: Guard/forward.

Accomplishments: Davis, an eighth-grader, has helped the Lady Colonels to a 5-3 record in the Mid-Bluegrass Conference this season.
The 5-foot-6 Davis plays both guard and forward for OCMS and basketball is her only sport.
“I just like the sport and working as a team,” Davis said.
Davis said she will move up to play for the freshman team at Oldham County High School this winter once the OCMS season is over.
Davis comes from a basketball background.
Her older brother, Calvin, was a starting forward for the OCHS varsity and her dad, Calvin Sr., was her first coach in the Oldham County Parks and Recreation league.
“When I was little my dad was coaching and that’s how I started playing,” Davis said. “It was easy to play for him.”
Other interests: In her spare time, Davis likes to cook, Her specialty is pastries and she said she may pursue that as a career someday.
School: An A and B student, Davis said math and science are her favorite subjects.
What the coach says: “She is probably our most physically talented player and is just a basketball player,” OCMS coach Dan Schulz said. “Some of our other kids play more than one sport, but she concentrates on basketball. She started out as more of a small forward, but has really improved her ball handling and can play the guard spot now which she is more suited to. She’s just a good kid who comes into the gym everyday and works hard to get better.”
