Name: Kyle Young.


School: South Oldham Middle School.


Sport: Basketball.


Age: 13.


Position: Center/forward.


Hometown: Pewee Valley.


Accomplishments: A transfer from Alabama, Young is expected to be a big-time player for the Dragons this season adding talent and athleticism to the teamÕs inside game. The 5-foot-10 Young will play center and forward for the Dragons as they look to defend their Mid-Blubegrass Conference regular season and tournanment titles won by last year's team.


"I think we can have a pretty good team," Young said. "Practice has been going very good so far."


School: An A-B student, Young said history and social studies are his favorite subjects.


Other sports: Young is also a standout wide receiver and defensive end for the SOMS football team. He wants to play both sports in high school.

  "I like basketball the best right now even though most people say I am a better football players," Young said.

Hobbies: In his spare time Young likes to play golf with his dad and listen to music. Before each game he listens to the song "Famous" by Puddle of Mudd.

  What the coach says: "He's a super, super kid and great addition to our team," SOMS coach Steve Carrithers said. "He is a very good athlete and is going to be a difference maker for us on the court."
