Name: Jack Schaller.

School: Oldham County Middle School.

Sport: Basketball

Age: 13.

Hometown: La Grange.

Accomplishments: A 5-foot-10 swingman, Schaller is expected to be a key player for the Oldham County Middle School Colonels this season.

He will play multiple positions inside and out for the Colonels to take advantage of his athleticism.

An all-around athlete, Schaller has played tennis and baseball in the past and will run track this spring for the Colonels but said he is concentrating full-time on basketball now.

Schaller started playing basketball at age five. He wants to continue his career at Oldham County High School.

“I have been playing basketball the longest and it just grew on me,” Schaller said. “I like all the other sports too, but basketball is my favorite and I want to concentrate on being the best at it.”

With Schaller and a host of other improved players, the Colonels are hoping to make a run at the Mid-Bluegrass Conference title this season.

“I think we can be really good this year,” Schalller said. “We have some good players and we play together.”

School: Schaller is a straight-A student who said he likes all his subjects equally.

Coach’s comment: “He’s an awesome kid who going to get better and better,” OCMS coach Darren Dawson said. “I think he is going to become a very good player at the high school level in a few years.”
