While the track and field teams take to Owsley Frazier Cardinal Park today at the 2A state track meet, the tennis state tournament will be easing into day two at the University of Kentucky with only one local player, Jordan Pitts, left in the mix.
After defeating C.J. Glasser from Owensboro Catholic 7-5; 6-4 in the opening round, the 8th grader from South Oldham went on the offensive in match two, ousting Joseph Litteral from Morgan County 6-2; 6-0.
Heading into the day, Pitts is scheduled to begin play at 10:30 a.m. against Covington Catholic’s Austin Hussey.
