The Arts Association of Oldham County looks for fun ideas for shows at Gallery 104 in La Grange to give artists a chance to showcase their work. The upcoming February 4, 2014 Show titled "Red" challenges the artist to define his or her interpretation of the word, color, or meaning of "Red". With February hosting St. Valentine's Day and heart awareness month, red is a perfect connection and quite appropriate for an art show. Last year’s show featured 60 works by 27 artists. Show chairperson, Mary Kinney, describes her inspiration for the show as: “I remember hearing of a similar show somewhere in the past, and I was intrigued by the idea and suggested it. I also wanted to chair the show as I have hopes of making this a fun and profitable show for the artists and the Arts Association of Oldham County.” Kinney continues, “We hope to have a similar turn out this year. Will there be red valentines, red faces, red dogs, the little red caboose, a shiny red car, big Red? We don't know but you will have to come to find out.” The Red Show runs February 4 – March 15, 2014.
